Greek doomsters Acid Mammoth drop their third long player. The band are unabashed Black Sabbath worshippers with a sound as heavy as their name suggests. Formed in 2015, the four-piece have garnered a growing reputation as they continue to build their own sound.

A sneering vocal delivery overlays a filthy slab of heaviness on opener “Berserker”. The standard set, what unfolds are old school chunks of stoner doom. The grandiose riffs of “Psychedelic Wasteland” and the thick, sumptuous “Ivory Towers” show off their Sabbath influences.

The real scale comes in on the 11 minute title track. Shades of Orange Goblin’s “Cities Of Frost” come through in the meaty riffs. Epic, massive and at times majestic, it grows and grows. Closing with the Electric Wizard sounding “Black Dust” and its ritualistic vocal delivery, the album finishes as it started…heavy.

Wrapped in artwork that sort of reminds me of Sleep’s “Dopesmoker” this is a solid whack of stoner doom. There’s nothing really new but it satisfies the heavy hunger plenty.
