My introduction to Metal and all things alternative came at the age of 11. I was already beginning to enjoy music and was soon pointed in the direction of Iron Maiden and Motorhead. A love of music developed from here delving into all manner of genres over the years as well as regularly attending gigs. By the time I was 16 I moved onto the heavier side of the Metallic die. It was at this point that I also wanted to give something back to the music world, I'd already failed at playing an instrument and so looked to reviewing. I started a YouTube channel in 2010 under the name ThatzNOTmetaL and over the next 5 years created a wealth of content, my music taste however was still expanding. After numerous changes and so forth I diversified into written media via a short lived e-zine called Eargore which in 2016 became a blog called Gore Crazy. Over the years I've learnt a lot about music and reviewing in general, so really I've now got my wish to give something back to the world of music that I adore.

Perveration – Putrefaction Of Infinite Apogee (Comatose)

The Slam/ BDM scene in Indonesia and Asia has always really appealed to me, so much so that I often keep an eye open for any festivals over there to visit and watch some top quality Death Metal. Maybe one… Continue Reading →

Luciferian Rites – Oath Of Midnight Ashes (Moribund)

It can be very easy for bands to pass you by and this Mexican Black Metal act is such a case for myself. Luciferian Rites formed back in 2006 and have since put out three full lengths and a mixture… Continue Reading →

Master – Saints Dispelled (Hammerheart Records)

Little breaks can be a good thing, for example I am now back from a year long hiatus from reviewing. Rather interestingly this first review I have chosen is from Master who themselves have had a bit of a break… Continue Reading →

Satanic Warmaster – Aamongandr (Werewolf Records)

You could say that the name Satanic Warmaster is a bit ‘Metal band name generator’ but to be honest it’s pretty cool. It exudes evil Black Metal energy which is exactly what this band excel at. This Finnish solo force,… Continue Reading →

Stabbing – Extirpated Mortal Process (Comatose Music)

Getting anything from Comatose Music is always a joy, generally their output is a resounding success. Couple this with Texan Brutal Death Metal energy and surely we have the makings of something great. Today we’re talking about Stabbing (the band,… Continue Reading →

Karg – Resignation (AOP Records)

It’s off to Austria today for some Post-Black Metal modernity with Karg. This band have an impressive slew of releases dating back to 2008. That said, this is certainly my first interaction with them. That interaction comes through the bands… Continue Reading →

Ofdrykkja – After The Storm (AOP Records)

Watching a band’s journey is something as a reviewer and fan I particularly enjoy. Today we look to a band whom I have formed quite the connection with over the years. That band is Ofdrykkja, their debut A Life Worth… Continue Reading →

Desecrate The Faith – III (Comatose)

Satan and gore, what more do you need in your music? Well maybe a bit of the old Texan Brutal Death wouldn’t go amiss. Such is the case with our unholy disciples of the day Desecrate The Faith. Having formed… Continue Reading →

Acid Witch – Rot Among Us (Hell’s Headbangers)

The spooky season may be over for some but for Acid Witch it truly is Halloween every day. Opening up their tombs in 2007 the band went on to produce Witchtanic Hellucinations in 2008 and the equally popular Stoned in… Continue Reading →

Coathanger Abortion – Plan C (Comatose)

Get a bowl, chuck in a hideous name, yeah, Coathanger Abortion that’ll do. Shall they be American, hell yeah they should be. How about their label? Well, let’s make it someone reliable like Comatose. Okay, there we go a recipe… Continue Reading →

Power From Hell – Shadows Devouring Light (Debemur Morti)

My favourite thing about Metal is when Metal references Metal and I can only assume that this is the case with Power From Hell. Whom if they haven’t plied their name from the Onslaught album of the same name then… Continue Reading →

Castrator – Defiled In Oblivion (Dark Descent)

It’s always nice to see bands going ahead with cool concepts and today we bear witness to the all female and indeed feminist driven Death Metal act Castrator. After much chat in years past about the genre being misogynistic it’s… Continue Reading →
