Dead Lord are consistently churning out entertaining free flowing releases that simply roll out of your speakers. If you are a fan you know what to expect, for newer followers I feel they take their influence from the likes of Blue Oyster Cult, UFO and Thin Lizzy.

‘Messin’ Up’ puts a positive vibe to a heartfelt lyric of admission. Its only when you listen intently you get this. To me that’s great song writing, whilst pouring out emotion, Dead Lord give you some great happy feelings at the same time. ‘Dystopia’ may well be the perfect soundtrack for this year in particular if you listen to the lyrics…who knows what will transpire in real life eh! The same could be said for the artwork, a future prediction of 2020! Being their fourth album, these Swedes were born too late for their style of music, but I find it great that they fit so well with what they represent and in the current climate, this album will give you a positive feeling. That is not to say that their back catalogue didn’t, far from it. I’m not going to bother going further and deeper and bring out all the reviewing puns and statements some of us usually say; it’s a great album, have a listen and buy it, support bands in the absence of live music, it’s a shame its released at the end of the summer, this is lovely sunny weather chilling music.

As I mentioned earlier, there isn’t any dramatic change or anything that I would describe as being different compared to their earlier releases, and I am very pleased about this. Dead Lord take their classic rock forward influencing a new generation of followers and aficionados and seasoned long standing listeners.
