I grew up in the North East at the tail end of NWOBHM and US Power Metal scene and more noticably during the glam vs. thrash conflict. I then upped sticks to spend a good few years in the West Midlands during the late 90's.

Over the years I have become a fanatical collector of records, T shirts and CD's and in this current internet age, mp3's are not what i consider to be called part a record collection for the "record"!

I decided to start writing reviews as I thought that it would be a good way to give back some positive support for artists and a music phenomenon that has given me great pleasure over the years. Revolting – Hymns of Ghastly Horror (F.D.A. Rekotz)

Hell:On – Age of Oblivion (Total Metal Records)

Hailing from the Ukraine, this is a thrash/groove band that has a notable guest musician (Jeff Waters – Annihilator) playing on one of the tracks, so does that spell a good thrash album? In the early part of the release,… Continue Reading →

Black Magic Six – Brutal Blues (Big Money Recordings/Svart Records)

Kryptos – The Coils of Apollyon (AFM Records)

I really enjoyed this bands second album ‘The Ark of Gemini’, but this latest effort, their third, takes India’s Kryptos to a completely different level. By this I mean that the bar has been raised significantly since switching to AFM… Continue Reading →

Caravan of Whores – Road to Kurti (SR)

These Oxfordshire natives are playing some fuzzed out, trip-tastic doom, like a cross between UK contemporaries Slabdragger and Trippy Wicked engaging in bong related incidents whilst making noises. These noises are over 30 minutes and there are only four tracks… Continue Reading →
