Formed in 2021 in Barcelona, Spain, this is traditional heavy metal in a similar vein to Riot City, Enforcer, Night Demon and Skullfist, plus many others, I could be here forever.
‘Knights of Metal’ featured on their EP release from 2021, it’s a galloping metal piece of majesty and it actually reminds of the band and song ‘Medieval Steel’ at the start. It speeds up considerably and follows the path of many modern traditional metal bands, with a particular emphasis on the vocal melody which is common in Swedish bands, both old and new. ‘Elm Street’ is straight ahead mid paced metal, that slight reverb recorded sound makes it sound vintage. ‘Welcome to …’ where the bell tolls and an eerie atmospheric begins the track, if you ever listened to King Diamond’s concept releases, you will figure a comparison here. In terms of composition/arrangement. The music itself doesn’t exist, it’s just an intro. ‘Money Sucks’ is an energetic romp through metals history, full of energy, like the modern wave of younger bands.
‘Stealing the Night’, another first EP track, has a different drum pattern, but falls into the “Priest” mode with screams and the guitar style. Of course, there is vocal reverb. ‘Running for Your Love (Tonight)’ takes on the speed of Riot City and Traveller but loses the vocals in the mix in some parts. It’s fast, energetic, could be other British metal, but it’s definitely of modern younger standards.
Overall, the album is enjoyable, there isn’t anything that really says “oh my, this is great”, but it’s not uncommon to hear an album of this standard and style nowadays. This album is likeable for sure, but may get lost of the scene, perhaps that’s a little harsh, but the vibrant artwork sets a good visual indicator if you are looking through the racks in a record shop.
