This is raw Polish black metal, the band’s third release and for those looking for technicality, look somewhere else. Based on my experience with their back catalogue, I was fully expecting what we have here.

‘Czuję zapach Twojej cipy’ (‘I can smell your “the C word”’) personifies the feelings I described earlier. There are no complex dynamics, just a simple riff, hammering drums and many symbol crashes. The angst and reverb driven vocal effects come across very apocalyptic. One of many unexpected surprises is a time change, simply as it sounds predictable and similar. Basically Sznur (“Rope” in Polish) will amaze some and completely p*ss off others. I would imagine Sznur don’t care, and just want to make their music. ‘Popłód’ provides a similar formula with its chord based riffs and ends with a baby crying and a microwave “ping”…the title translates to ‘childbirth’. ‘Co się stanie’ (‘What Will Happen’) has a demented speed approach at the start but also conveys a more melodic feel, quite strange, a touch unique. There is a lot of the same riff going on from song to song, perhaps I would say it outstays its welcome in some places, until the rabid wasp sting vocal commences. This track reminds me of the sub-genres very early beginnings of the Polish scene, akin to stuff I was listening to 20 years ago.

‘Jestem Twoim śmieciem’ (‘I Am Your Garbage’) reminds me of albums 2 to 4 of Darkthrone (for an easy reference); raw, nihilistic and a touch of stark reality with a rather simple but effective breakdown around the 4 minute mark. The remainder is filled with single finger sounding chords that clearly display the delightful raw aggression over anything more precise and “produced”. The title track (that translates roughly to ‘Man’s House’) is eerie and has compelling trademarks of the scene it comes from.

Overall, it’s probably easier to comprehend a lot more to the native language speakers amongst you, for me I certainly gained more clarity when I used an online translator. The album in summary is raw, neck wrenching filth, filled with lyrical guile and anger. A bizarre release in places, but there is something redeeming about the results.
