This is Endezzma’s third album release but as is the way with Norwegian black metal bands there’s plenty of history and associations with other musicians.
Ominous winds give way to explosive firepower, inevitably. What is striking is that the overall sound and vocals have a raw element as if production doesn’t matter, yet rather than sounding like it could come from someone’s kitchen, it’s in fact expansive and well produced. “The Name of The Night Is a Strong Tower” is loud, angry and strangulating, even featuring a haunting chant. So too “Anomalious Abomination” is fast and hard with no time for sentiment. The fury is dirty. The title track follows. Modern in its attacking thrashing black metal style, the song develops like a whirlwind, punishing and laying waste to everything around it.
The swirling fury continues. Sometimes it’s measured but most of the time it’s maximum intensity output, reflecting chaos and disorder in the putrid air. The vocalist preaches and spits out his terrible sermon. “Wild Glorior Death” starts dramatically and we’re off back into a crescendo of noise and instrumental warfare. A deep moan adds further menace. It’s not subtle. Carcinogenic clouds gather and run into the following fury fest “Open Your Eyes and Stab the Sight”. “I cannot hear you” screams the vocalist. “Arrows of Equilibrium” is slower and more drawn out, but no less angst-ridden than what has gone before. Mid-way the thunder rumbles and the piece heightens in its murderous intensity. The ominous winds return to close.
Ten pieces of merciless black metal make up “The Archer, Fjord and the Thunder”. With it comes plenty of atmospheric content and turbulent intensity.
