Was there ever a more appropriately named band given the rampaging pandemic that is sweeping across the planet. As prophetic as the band is I’m sure this Ecuadorian trio didn’t envisage how apt their band moniker would actually be as they make one hell of a racket. Indeed you’d be forgiven for thinking that there were more band members such is wholly enveloping brutality the band has written for their debut release. With an intro you could easily find as the backdrop to a horror flick the album catapults into life with ‘Killing Persevately Depressed’ which I know doesn’t make sense but that’s what the band has called it. What the song unleashes is an assault of brutalising finesse where drummer Togra demonstrates how to play at insane speeds but with plenty of variation. I did find the drum sound a little too like a tin can on the snare sound but is par for the course in the brutal death metal scene for some reason.

Embellishing all their songs with modicums of melodicism the album smashes into ‘Ejaculating Illumination’ which features Ewan Lambert (Facefuck, Impure Violation etc) as a guest. The speed is retained as the vocals use that gut disembowelling tone that almost sounds like extra bass such is its cavernous delivery. Insanely fast the song brandishes the melodic overtones via technical guitar work and swerving tempo changes.

Another guest, Sonny Trujillo (Cadaverous Infest), appears on ‘Calcining Human Flesh’ which sees this track use a grisly riffing sortie with ridiculously low vocals. The song hypnotically charges with a half blasted section cemented to the slam based riff. As the song evolves however it quickly pivots into technical devastation, a facet found on all the songs. ‘Interstellar Torture’ opens with a dense vocal gurgle before the expected detonation in speed. However the song veers away from that momentarily for a slice of doom death pie which albeit brief capitalises on the swerving momentum changes when the blast reappears.

‘Altered By Substances’ has a fine opening riff before plummeting into slam territory. However like the other tunes the song brandishes its terrorizing ferocity with aplomb when the pace is amplified as those vocals are fully ingrained into the rhythm aspects of the song. Pipo Castellanos (Cafeterasub) guests on ‘Genocidas Del Control’ where the destructive nihilism and harsher vocal, courtesy of the guest, ramps up the rabidity to leave only ‘Chaotic Biological Organization’ to close the album before the creepy outro tune. The song is far grislier in approach with a slightly different sound to the other songs. Adding deft subtleties to the guitar work enhances the technical aspects before the ensuing blast velocity. It fluctuates wildly in tempo producing an off kilter track compared to the rest of the album where we get some peculiar jazzy elements that I found a step too far to be honest but didn’t detract from the album overall.

There are plenty of acts I could have referenced for Infected Humans but suffice to say anyone with a penchant for the brutalising technical death metal genre should check out this punishing pulverising debut.
