Speaking in “the Devil’s tongue,” here we have a trio with members split between Germany and Brazil some of whom also play in Sodomizer and Hellkommander along with a drummer who has done time in both Destruction and Morgoth. Can you guess what they sound like? Probably and it should come as no surprise that stylistically this falls into the Satanic realm of both speed metal and black thrash. Pretty neck cracking it is too as then band don’t particularly slow down much at all over these 9 turbulent and ferocious numbers.
Not beating about the bush in the slightest, this album follows on from 2017 debut ‘Im The Devil’ and gallops off out the traps with rugged drumming and punk-laden discharge from thick bass and guitars. Rasping and roaring over the top are the vocals from Leatherface who you can quite imagine yelling away behind a flesh-mask and the production has a coating of grime making it all the more uncouth. There’s a mighty groove about these numbers which all have an immediacy about them and get the job done quickly over their snappy running time. Jesus Christ is told to “fuck off” at the end of the first number and they quickly barrel into the next ‘Under The Sign Of The Reaper’ bringing blasphemy and devilish intent to the fore. You will have heard this before countless times but that does not stop the blazing witchery being any less enjoyable. This lot are not about reinventing the wheel but just furrowing away and getting the listener to bang heads and enjoy themselves doing so. There’s some good soloing from the guitar department and this has a good crossover from Sodomastic Teutonic death through to Brazilian savagery. You may also learn a couple of things if you look into titles such as ‘The Last Days Of Paul John Knowles’ which is a loving ode to The Casanova Killer and has some great elongated snarls from the vokills. Another enthusiastic and smile inducing moment is brought by the rabid lycanthropic, wolverine howls on ‘Satanik Werewolves’ and whether it’s a full moon or not you are likely to find yourself baying along.
I’m sold on ‘Motherfuckers from the Apokalipse’ and all I need is a good Italian post apocalypse film to go with the call of “blasphemy, heresy, sodomy” that’s spat out rapid-fire along with it. With Discharge and GBH hanging around with chains and leather on ‘Mass Murder’ the crust punk vibe is perfectly dished up perfectly on a fast and furious 2 ½ minute number. As for ‘Antichrist’ it’s a total rager with thudding drums and some very cool hooks to it, reeling you right in.
So, we have a rousing lesson in Satanic speed here that’s an enjoyable listen for any banger wanting to let loose over 36 minutes. Having done so plenty over the last week or so I can definitely vouch for this.
