This is the Polish outfit’s début album after having been around for 4 years and with the current line-up for two. Hailing from Bielsko-Biała the 6 piece describe themselves as Djent/Metalcore/Electro, which is about as apt a description as you’re likely to get. Rusty’s vocals are mostly death growls, but interspersed with some rasping screams and the occasional rap to boot. Shaun and Majster’s guitars are full of chunky riffs with plenty of rapid changes.
After the “Down to the…” intro, which sounds like the a descent to a dungeon, there’s a subtle riff which very gently is joined by a melodic keyboard, played by Cyfrowe Zło, before “Catharsis” takes things up a gear and the drums set the pace for much heavier guitar riffs and very futuristic sounding electronic sounds that pop and squelch out the speakers.
“Lost in Memories” is filled with angry rasping screams and shouts to go with the viscous riff and rapid beatdown given to the drums by Hoomer.
However, it’s the drum patterns used on “Unbroken” that are actually worth paying attention to as they change and vary to make things very interesting indeed.
The far slower “No Vision” has Grzela’s bass popping behind the picked guitars and keyboard runs before the flowing lead takes on a life of its own on this lengthy instrumental.
While the undercurrent of “Kingdom of Delusion” is slow and melodic, there are still harsher elements that surface before being subdued by the melody again, keeping the overall feel rather mellow.
Heading back to electro territory, “Tyrant’s Fall” is full of bells and whistles and other weird sounds to complement the guitars, drums and caustic vocal delivery.
Ending the album with a steady cadence and rap vocals on “We Are”, interspersed with the sounds of a keyboard that go from dancey to bizarre and unexpected, thankfully the choppy guitar rhythm keeps things going.
Give the album a listen, especially as you’re able to do so via the link below, then decide for yourself.
