Razor sharp and deep into the abyss with its chasmic echoes, Suspiral set about representing chaos. They describe it as “the earthly manifestation of spiritual dimensions existing beyond Death”.
“Poisonous Essence” is languid, extreme, at times frenetic and from a shadowy, dark place. The whistling has almost a psychedelic air. Over its thirteen minute duration, it progresses through various stages of gloom and torment. “Heireira Duero” is no less violent, conjuring up more dreadful scenes. The drums batter away furiously, enhancing the wall of sound which is only interrupted by deathly screams and defiant guitars which strike out wildly and penetratingly. It’s good if non-stop violence is your thing. “Hiereira Duero” pulls away moodily but there’s never any escape from this apocalyptic world. “The Art of Death” follows the familiar routine, before breaking off doomily. Agony is evident. The horrific screams accompany the procession through the black and merciless world for which the scene was set from the beginning and which has never changed.
There can be no doubting the intensity and extremity of “Delve Into the Mysteries of Transcendence”. Sophisticated art it is not. This is three tracks and thirty three minutes of unadulterated underground violence.
