The intro to this album is good, setting the scene for the opening title track which bursts into life with a good scathing riff. This Greek act has put out two albums previously and this one has a huge groove metal component and heavy guitar sound with a production that is powerful, has plenty of balls and loaded with a rich and forceful delivery. Most groove metal tends to plod along, creating that nodding laid back feeling but Furor make you sit up and take notice, as they like to throw a few curve balls as the title track demonstrates with its acoustic section and clean vocals. “Nothing For You” is highly modernised metal with massive core like tendencies brandished within a thrashing groove like template.
The band definitely do like to mix things up with “Stinkhole Loaded” shifting into down tuned riff thuggery and clean vocals. It’s commercial metal for all intents and purpose but heavy enough not to fall into cotton candy metal that most of us despise. The crunch of “Blue Screen Terror” is catchy with spoken lyrics and that guitar string bend that does infect modern metal these days and similar to the likes of Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage etc, etc. There is a tad of modern hardcore as I hinted at such as on “Misspelled Marionette” which begins like a Hatebreed tune, before focusing on the thrash style. The bouncy beat is decent enough and live I’m sure these are damn fine tunes. “Eye Sea” has one of those infectious riffs that embeds in your head and remains there, repeating until it drives you nuts but very enjoyable with it. Closing this album is “Undress Your Face” a tune that slows things down substantially at first before switching to familiar guise and that modernistic approach. I hear many albums like this every year and some end up being distant memories of what could have been and some like this have the ability to impregnate the grey matter and reside there well enough to make you look back and think it was worth while checking the band out.
