This is a second release from this Italian Speed Metal band. I have played this countless times recently and if you are into anything like early Overkill, Exciter, Running Wild and Hallows Eve (‘Metal Merchants’ by Hallows Eve is gloriously covered on this release – which is one of my favourite tunes by that band I might also add), you will be in good company.
The title track may have you thinking of those aforementioned German pirates, simply by the guitar tone and chord progression, ‘Marching to Die’ perhaps? On the other hand the speed metal assault of ‘No Speed Limit’ and the thunderous ‘Battlefield’ is immense. Crank these tunes up loud and go nuts and some early Manowar fans may appreciate the track ‘Witch Hunters’, one of their oldest recorded songs. It has been a while since a band has captured the European speed metal sound of old and this is simply top drawer in comparison. There is not much point in me delving further into the technicalities, all you need to know is that it really works and sounds genuine.
This has a tremendous feel to the album, there is so much energy and it is of a style that is an obsession for me. Nay-Sayers may state that this is not original, but I really don’t care, if it was different it would not be as good as what it is. This is proper speed metal!
