Society, Modernity, Death. What an excellent lyrical style for a band
Finnish ingenuity meets Crust/Punk/Noise melodies and the carnage begins. Unborn Generation’s ”Island” must be one of the most powerful releases I’ve listened to, since I joined the zine. Finnish metal scene always contained skillful performers and great bands, so the existence of another one is no surprise to metalheads. The key point here is the style of these guys. They are aggressive, sick and we know it. They combine the early death metal attitude, with an amazing Entombed-ish guitar sound, the fast pace of punk and the crusty drum noise. Its cheesy, I can tell you that.
The Cd begins with ”Wolves”, a ‘get to the point” kind of song, which introduces what’s next to be done. The Wall, Left to Die, Hail to Chaos, follow the same inhumane style and plan, just like ‘Wolves”. Fast blast beats, neck cracking vocals, nihilistic lust and loud, really loud performance.
The Cd continues with powerful songs like Song of fire, Another Wrong Choice, Wrong side, There will be Blood ( oh, yes there will be!), Island, System Fails, Snakeskin Boots and at last Cult. Perfect recipe for daily stamina, especially if you have to get in contact with posh people at work. So, try not to attack them, by listening to this mad purgatory called ”Island”. Who knows, maybe this is another dirty work of the Devil. Can’t be bad, can it?
