Not a new album but a compilation that spans this bestial Brazilian bands formative years from 1992 to 1994 and begins with cuts from their “Unmerciful Order” EP from 1994. Far from the mechanized brutalisation of today’s albums, Krisiun’s early days was soaked in satanic like malignancy but still possessing a malevolent spirit of aural bombardment courtesy of the trademark bomb blast by Max Kolesne. Comparatively this whole release follows the early albums by Deicide for the most part with guttural but clear vocals embellishing tunes that are saturated in underground griminess.

There is little subtlety to “Crosses Toward Hell” or “Summons Of Irreligious” as each sounds like a band saw cutting steel and the guitar sounds like a high tensile drill burrowing through granite. There is a frightening barbarity that points some way to how the band was about to transform into the warmongering beast it is today. “Infected Core” had me thinking about crust icons Deviated Instinct as we next get tracks from the bands “The Plague” demo from 1992 which boasts a massive bass infestation and anarchic cacophony amongst the battering drumming and rasping guitar riffs. Again Deicide is dominant on the song writing but Krisiun carved out their own niche of blasphemous assaults by writing songs that were truly heinous for the time such as the monstrous “Evil Mastermind” (cheesy title I know).

Closing the compilation is a track from the split with Violent Hate it seems, though this split also had songs from the debut demo “The Plague”, however “The Dead Are Rising Up” is unique to the split. The song has a tinnier snare sound and the vocals are far clearer than the rest of the album. The Slayer riffing is prevalent and pretty obvious but not too plagiarised. As a compilation this is worthy of getting hold of, as the sound is good and showcases the roots of Krisiun and hints at the bludgeoning to come on subsequent releases.
