Ah what a lovely cover, if the artwork was scratch and sniff it would no doubt reek of offal. The ladies with all their bits displayed in a bathroom have been hanging around there literally for a while by the looks of things and this is not the sort of crime scene the hardiest of detectives would like to stumble across. Put this together with the album title and songs entitled with such glorious names as ‘Ejaculation Over Defiled Human Remains’ and what you have is a rather gross quartet from theUKwith their debut album. One thing I must take my hat off to them for is that they appear to be the only band on Metal Archives called Engorgement, I was expecting to find about ten, so well done for them finding an obvious yet original name.
Living in places likeAndover,BedfordandIpswichthe latter place rather infamous a couple of years back for some rather grizzly prostitute killings has no doubt given the band some inspiration for their themes, but what about the music itself? Well the vocals are those unintelligible gurgles that sound like slimy human remains oozing down a waste disposal unit. Drums batter away and occasional guitar squeals rise from the otherwise chundering mid-paced morass which is ugly and uncompromising. Calling it brutal death mixed with gore grind is probably going to give you an idea and this is certainly extreme and not for everyone. Problem is that over the 22 minute album (well it is described as one) there is little in the way of diversification and it becomes as stale as a rotting whore very quickly. There has been quite a bit of effort put into writing the lyrics and they are amusing to read, up there like the literary equivalent of the August Underground movies. Absolutely no chance of understanding them unless they are in front of you but I appreciate the effort.
Band members have been shat from the likes of Scatorgy, Kraanium and Embrionic Depravity and if you have encountered any of these at various sewers around theUKyou are going to have a good idea what to expect here. Personally I find this just too one dimensional and am glad of the running time being so honed down. It is a bit of a relief to find the music broken up by a long sample that I recognised instantly as being from the equally slimy Street Trash and it slithers down the pan with more substance than the following ‘Putrefying Colonic Irrigation’ the vocals of which suitably sound like a pig taking a hefty splattery dump.
Putrid till the end and twice as stinky. Catch them at Altars Of Death in London with the likes of Amputated and Basement Torture Killers if you fancy a real night out on the kill.

The image of that hefty splattery dump is so vivid that I can smell it from here. Great piece of writing!
